You can Add/Rescan on the client machine so it picks up the UNC name (e.g. \\sparkasse) rather than the drive letter/path on your host machine – which your client won’t understand as a location

The path to the .ini file is the same as in Vista: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey

Now with a comment, or perhaps if you edit the source, it will show up in Google searches for that. 🙂

If all PC’s use the same mapped drive letter mapped to the same path, wouldn’t it still work just as well?

Searching and filters are a good example.

What I would love to see is a SQL controlled music instead of a “MS Access” way of sharing it.

I really hated having to restart my computer to sync my ipod if I wasn’t in the right OS and I was manually copying my database in order to stay in sync. I found a way to convert your database to the UNC method without needing any extra software. Mediamonkey has a ‘location’ node, and if you notice, you can use it to manually move folders around without changing the filenames or folder structures. Anyway, just add a file into mediamonkey’s library using the UNC name, and then it’ll be able to be selected in the location node. then just drag your main music folder into a different folder within the UNC named version of your drive and that’s it. it’ll take a little while but everything stays in tact. now I can sync between 2 versions of windows on the same pc, and also 2 other computers on my network. sweet.
