Hi,
I am still haveing problems getting xine-extras-nonfree to install. I get a long string of errors about how certain parts of xine-extras-nonfree conflict with other files. Help please.
Your website has been really helpful, I am fairly new to linux, my laptop with FC6 being my first Linux only machine. If I can get DVDs and other video files to play then I intend to completely move over to Linux. Thanks.

I'm having troubles with installing and running totem-xine to watch DVDs on my fedora 6. (I'm new to the linux world and like it so far. This has me stumped thou)

yum -y install xine xine-lib xine-skins xine-lib-extras-nonfree libdvdcss

This is the install that I performed and it changed nothing. Totem is still missing plugins.

I removed totem, xine and everything else related to it and then reinstalled using the above command. Then there was no cd/dvd player. Reinstalled totem and then the same missing plugin problems.

I'm going in circles.

Could you help me out?

ntfs-3g is on the CD which enables it in nautilus, or so i believe. I dont actually have NTFS partitions myself, but others use it apparently.

Romel - You will find help and support at a place like fedoraforum:
http://www.fedoraforum.org/

Jeff - Yes, I still have BLAG installed. And yes, BLAG does make certain issues a lot easier than Fedora does "out of the box." That's certainly true. No hippos, though. ;)

The idea of "Fedora Improved" was what initially led me to try BLAG. As I mentioned in this little article, I don't have any NTFS drives or partitions on this particular machine. Does BLAG read/write NTFS?

Interesting to see this older post now, Brian. This just came on my radar so I thought I'd ping the thread.

BLAG does all of the above for you out-of-the-box, except the proprietary nvidia/flash. Though I think you can just click on flash in your browser and it'll download it (no need for livna etc).

Hope you're enjoying BLAG if you still have it installed somewhere. ;)
